Monday Made-It!

 I know! Last post of the day....

I actually made it (kind of) to finally post on 4th Grade Frolics Monday Made-Its!  It's not quite done, but I have been working hard on it this week.  I am making a 5th grade interactive grammar notebook.  So, here are the first couple of pages...more to come.

Like the post says, here's a few things about me.

1.) I am teaching 5th grade at a new school in the city where my husband lives!  It's completely brand new (as of Nov. 2012), and no one has used my classroom.  The best thing about this school is the fact that I student taught there 5 years ago.  So the 5th grade kids I'll be teaching were the Kindergarteners hat I student taught!  I am very excited to see them!

2.) I am married to the most patient, calm, and understanding man.  We had been dating for 7 years before we got married.  We have been married for 2 as of this past June.  However, the summer before we got married, I got a job 4 hours away from home (where he is in a doctorate program).  So now we finally get to open our wedding presents, and live together (see #1)!

3.) Like Kacey, we have two dogs who are spoiled beyond belief.  As of right now, Aster (right) and Shelby (left) are the grandkids our parents keep dropping hints about. 

4.) I love TV.  I just like it on when I am doing things.  However, there are several shows that I like and am pretty loyal to them: Sherlock, NCIS, NCIS LA, Burn Notice, White Collar, Warehouse 13, True Blood (this is a maybe, especially this new season), Game of Thrones, and Sons of Anarchy.  My husband hates my cop shows but whatever. 

5.) I am a perfectionist.  I like things the way I like my things.  I am very detail oriented about certain things.  I think that's why I spend hours on a project (TpT) and not stop until I am satisfied.  Sometimes, this can drive my husband nuts, but he loves me still.

6.) I love coffee.  Don't talk to me unless I have had at least one cup.  Don't expect any logical or coherent answer until I have had a cup.  If I don't have it, I get very cranky, and it shows.

7.) I love color!  I love bright, vibrant colors.  Right now, I am obsessed with hot pink, aqua, and bright green.

8.) I am a loud person. Period.  My family is loud; we talk loud.  I know that bothers some people, but I can't help it.  I've had a friend comment that a conversation between my mother and me sounds like a screaming match (especially since half of it is in Chinese and the other half is in English).

9.) I dislike: mosquitoes, traffic, people touching me with their toes, crooked picture frames, crickets, oatmeal, obvious grammar mistakes, and rain.

10.) I love: dogs, naps, reading, knitting, Photoshop, coffee, technology, chocolate, office supplies (especially pens), kids, and sunsets, ocean waves, music, hanging out with friends, and bad movies.

And those are a few things about me :)

Monday Made It #13!

I know I have like an hour and change to get this up, but I did finally make something in time for a Monday Made It with Tara.

So I made a pendant banner for my classroom...I know it's not a big deal for most of you awesome crafters, but for this girl, it's a big achievement!  So here it is!

It's FRIDAY!!  Monday starts the Teacher Work Week for me :( Sad to see summer go and VERY, VERY SAD TO LEAVE MIKE IN BLACKSBURG WITHOUT ME!  Anyway, I'm linking up with Blog Hoppin' for Freebie Friday.

Therapeutic Thursday

Morning All,

Crazy early for me on one of my last days to sleep in! Argh!  Linking up with Blog Hoppin', how do I relax?

Hmm, I believe Mike would say I don't.  Even when I'm relaxing, I'm still doing something school related.  However, when it's been a rough day....

Love me some Tropical Smoothie!  Their Chipotle Chicken wrap and a Sunrise Sunset smoothie....*sigh*

or a nice slice of this will make any day back to normal!

I HEART chocolate.

or maybe a bourbon and coke...yes, a coke

These can always relax me after a rough day.

and the best for last....nothing like a good movie or a book :)

Morning Everyone!

I'm continuing the Teacher Week with Blog Hoppin' with a fabulous app I found.  It's called Classroom Organizer.  It's an app you can get on your iPhone or Android and use it to track your classroom library.  You scan in the books and kids can check them out.  It's awesome!  Now I can keep track of who is reading what, where my books are, even run assessment reports, and I won't lose them (as much)!  Best of all, it's FREE!  Enjoy!

First, COFFEE!

I wouldn't make it to 9:45 without my coffee.  It's such a lifesaver, and not just for me!

Second, my laminator!

This thing has made my life so much easier!  I heart my laminator!

Third, Photoshop CS6!

I wouldn't know how I would make all my TpT printables without it!

Fourth, my TpT Store!

I love all the products on here!  It's been wonderful!

Last but most definitely not least, an understanding spouse!

Don't know what I would do without him!  He keeps me sane when all else fails.
